Groups doing similar work

Our sister organization at the University of Pittsburgh, Grief to Action CAASI launched in summer of 2020. They have great faculty support and have done a number of amazing community projects, including an important mapping of police union projects.

At Carnegie Mellon University, a great resource is Students for Urban Data Systems (SUDS). Compared to Tech4Society, they are more focused on institional partners, but there is a lot of overlap and opportunities for collaboration. SUDS runs regular workshops and tutorials open to the public to teach people how to use data analysis tools, which are good to take advantage of!

Our umbrella organization, Techshift helps lead tech for social good student organizations across camapuses in the United States.

At the national level, Ragtag has a similar mission, but is focused on developing tools that can be deployed across the U.S.
